Portugal Beware Drogba

Ivory Coast coach Sven-Goran Eriksson could breathe with the condition of Didier Drogba. Eriksson is also hoping to play a captain is to face Portugal next week. Drogba had threatened not to come to South Africa after suffering a broken arm during a trial against Japan on June 4 last. Chelsea striker was to have surgery.

But Eriksson is still bringing Drogba in the squad to South Africa. Ivory Coast captain continues to show progress and Eriksson is hoping he can play the first match when they face Portugal on Tuesday (06/15/2010).

"If the game done today or tomorrow, he can not play. But because there are still a few days longer he might play against Portugal," Eriksson said as quoted by Reuters.

Acumen and ability Drogba scored was badly needed by Eriksson. Moreover, the Ivory Coast are in Group D are quite heavy, in addition to Portugal, they will face North Korea and Brazil.

"This is a difficult group, but we'll prepare well and we will do everything to be able to play well against other teams," said the Swede this.
